How to bet a 6-point teaser in NFL and college football

football predictions and teasersThe avid sports investor will likely already know there are various teaser bets out available in NFL or college football betting, and that a 6-point teaser is one of the most popular teasers played among all sports gamblers and investors.

Even handicappers and betting systems understand the value of a 6-point teaser in their football predictions and nfl picks, but only when the timing and opportunity is right. You can’t play them all, but you can play them strategically.

What is a 6-point teaser?

Before you read on about 6-point teasers, I recommend you familiarize yourself with what is a teaser bet (and if your new to sports investing or betting on football, read this post on how to bet on football). A 6 point teaser is similar to a parlay or accumulator bet, yet unique in how its paid out. For example, you can risk is $120 to win $100 instead of risking $100 to win $210, as is in the case of parlay betting. Remember though, a teaser bet will pay less money than a parlay, but gives you one big advantage, you can move the point spread.

ESPN writer covers new college football prediction model

ESPN’s coverage, a new system to bet ncaa college football

ESPN writer covers new college football prediction modelBack in August, Chad Millman, Editor in Chief of ESPN The Magazine wrote a popular article on a new system to bet college football stemming from a conversation with an MIT graduate at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

Now this new system to bet ncaa college football is not system endorsed by ESPN, but what resonates strongly are two key points:

  1. The research and inspiration of the prediction model from the MIT graduate aligns with IntelligenBettingTips.com to prove sports is a sound “investment asset” within an investment portfolio, along with equities and other investment vehicles.
  2. The new ncaa football prediction model was produced from a graduate of MIT, where IntelligentBettingTips.com sports prediction model was inspired from scholar research at the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, and Harvard.

Chad sat on the panel about the world of sports betting today, and wrote about a discussion he had with an MBA graduate of MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) by the name of Mike Wohl.

The Sloan Sports Analytics Conference tends to attract a variety of members who are hard-core gambling fans, sports investors and sharps – along with a few other MIT graduates who probably have the next best prediction system for betting on sports. Why attend? It’s a place where the brainiac statisticians, sports fanatics, and computer engineers (likely from MIT) come together who have a focus in sports, and lead the evolution in sports prediction modelling and sports betting.

lose at sports betting

Why most football and sports bettors lose?

lose at sports bettingThere’s a difference between gambling and investing, both in the equity markets and in the sports markets (just look at the sports investing performance of some of the expert handicappers and the intelligent tips model). Though you don’t have to look to far to see people throwing money down on a hot penny stock tip, or worse yet, the Facebook IPO (which was manipulated by corporate and investment banker hype). Similar in the sports market, most sports bettors throw money down to either to make more money, or for the simple sheer excitement and high, like a drug some may say. And over time, it becomes a weekly ritual to bet on the weekend NFL games, or others sports throughout the year.

Having spent some time on the inside of the online sports gambling world with two major brands, both in sports, poker and casino, their was always the inside joke about about how to make losing money fun. The same applied to the sportsbook and it was widely known on the inside that ‘over time’ most sports bettors are going to lose money. Even if you won, the sportsbooks would be watching your account, offering reload bonuses in the book, or cross channel you into the poker or casino. Whatever it took to get you coming back to bet on another game, or play in another product channel, because we all knew that over time, you would lose.
